AMERICAN LEGION POST 318

American Legion is a non profit organization. American Legion Post 318 was chartered in 1941, at that time the Post Incorporated under Laws of the State of Missouri. In 1984 the Post suffered a terrible fire that caused total renovation of the Legion Hall. In 1993 the Post went through the "Flood of "93", causing more destruction. Flood lines inside the hall measured 9'2" at the front door. Our current memberships are at 303 Legion Members 78 Sons of the American Legion 60 Ladies Auxillary Members We also welcome and hope for new people to join our Post.

Friends of Parkville Animal Shelter

Mission Statement:Friends of Parkville Animal Shelter is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization made up solely of volunteers. We are committed to taking care of the dogs and cats in the shelter and finding them happy homes. We also strive to reaise awareness, provide education and work to better the living conditions at the shelter. FOPAS provides a real community service, rescuing hundreds of dogs and cats from throughout the Greater Kansas City Area (not only Parkville) and getting neglected, unhealthy animals off the streets. Our tireless volunteers placed 400 animals in permanent homes last year. Volunteers also work to educate the public about the importance of responsible pet companionship in an effort to reduce the overpopulation crisis. And, we work with youth who serve as young humanitarians: volunteers, fund reaisers and role models for their peers, learning the lifelong skills of volunteerism.

Futura Futbol Academy

Futura Mission Statement The Futura Futbol Club's mission is to provide an exceptional youth soccer training experience in a professional and fun environment. Players will focus on individual skills improvement and the benefits of team play, while developing a consistent commitment to pursuing excellence through soccer. Futura is committed to maintaining its reputation as a leader in youth soccer training in the Kansas City area. The Club prepares players for high school, intercollegiate and future professional soccer opportunities, while developing important life skills including character, persistence, discipline and teamwork. Futura Futbol Club - History Long-time soccer player & coach Todd Logan, of Liberty, Missouri, founded the Futura Futbol Club in 1992. Logan, still the Club President saw the need for soccer instruction focused on individual technical development, teamwork and a commitment to excellence. The club consists of more than 475 youth soccer players in the Kansas City metro area ranging in age from 4 to 18. Programs such as the Kick Start Academy for young children, Speed and Agility Training Camps, and strategic partnerships with Adidas and The Kansas City Wizards are continuing to strengthen our opportunities to teach and motivate committed young soccer players. Future plans include the purchase of land for training fields and even an indoor training facility located in the Northland.

H.M.S. Beagle Science Club

H.M.S. Beagle Science Club is for students in kindergarten (k) through 12th grade. Students may join the Science Club for a yearly membership fee of $15.00. They will receive a personalized membership card and a certificate suitable for framing. Members and their parents receive discounts on merchandise in the H.M.S. Beagle store in Parkville, MO., as well as on the H.M.S. Beagle's online store (www.hms-beagle.com).
Meetings include a program or presentation on a scientific topic and awards will be given out to those students who have achieved certain levels in the club's A-C-G-T Program. In addition, club members will receive appropriate recognition for awards received in other programs such as 4-H, Girl Scouts, Camp Fire USA, and Boy Scouts as well as in their own schools' science fairs or in Greater Kansas City Science & Engineering Fair (Science Pioneers).
