Fourth of July Celebration
Wednesday, July 1 though Saturday, July 4, 2009
The night sky over Downtown Historic Parkville will be a blaze of color as the 2009 Fourth of July Celebration hits its peak.
Parkville, MO. – Over 20,000 people from around the county will enjoy shopping, dining, carnival rides and a spectacular fireworks display over the Missouri River. Families can pick their favorite spots and watch the fireworks display from their arm chairs.
The parade on Saturday morning will begin at 63rd Street and Highway 9 at 10:00 am. The Admiral of Parkville, Bill Grigsby will announce the parade with hundreds of people in the procession.
Midland Empire Shows will host the carnival from July 1 through July 4. Other perks of the festival will be the American Legion's famous hamburgers, strawberry topped funnel cakes, fresh squeezed lemonade and the ever-popular kettle corn.
The Fourth of July Celebration with its parade, unique carnival and outstanding fireworks display promises to once again be one of Downtown Historic Parkville's great traditions.

I hope he isn't drunk like he was at Christmas on the river. I've enjoyed many years at Parkville at Christmas but Grigsby ruined the program by interupting the singing and talking over the other guy on stage. I know he's a kind of legend in the area, but if you don't get someone else to mc the programs, I'm afraid you are going to loose your audience and people who make this spectacular show a success. It's time for him to go please.
